An update from Dr. Dan…

Dear fellow Patriots,
Last week was an incredible week for our our campaign! I participated in two candidate forums, attended the Haywood County GOP Women’s Club meeting, and spoke at the annual Charles Taylor Holiday Dinner.
The first candidate forum was hosted at Western Carolina University and sponsored by the Young Americans for Liberty. The questions asked by the students in attendance reflected the growing concern among young people about our country’s dire economic situation, including the budget deficit and growing national debt. Like us, they feel the incredible urgency to stop federal spending.
On Wednesday evening I participated in the Buncombe County GOP candidate forum, and I am elated to share that our message resounded with the audience. Following the debate, a straw poll was conducted and I placed well ahead of the other candidates.
Our message of freedom and reducing the size, scope, and power of the federal government is one that has vast appeal with so many people of our district. I am encouraged by the outpouring of support that we are receiving.
Even our competition sees the incredible impact that our message of freedom has. So much so, that we are starting to notice some of the other candidates parroting our message and paying lip service to Constitutional principles. We are confident that the voters in this district will be able to distinguish between these establishment politicians and statesman, like myself, who are born of the grassroots efforts and are proud to be involved in such valiant efforts to impede the further loss of freedom that made our country prosperous.
In concluding, I need to ask for your financial support. We know that our opponents, some of whom are backed by the NRCC, have an incredible amount of money behind them, and while I am confident that our message of freedom will prevail in this fight, it takes money to deliver that message.
I am proud to say that I have been included as a Liberty Candidate for the 2010 election and this group is holding a “Money Bomb” on December 16th in celebration of the 236th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. So, although it is short notice, and right before Christmas, we are entitling ours the “EichenBOMB” and ask you to donate whatever you can afford at this time. Every dollar will be put to good use in the fight to take back our county!
